Long term use of pain killer drugs may be associated with progression of knee osteoarthritis and increased risk of future knee replacement.

According to the International Association for the Study of Pain, the current therapy for neuropathic pain is not satisfactory. More than two-thirds of neuropathic pain patients obtain insufficient pain relief and this poor response is likely related to our failure to target relevant pain generating mechanisms in individual patients.

Diagnosis & Treatment of Pain

A) PROLOTHERAPY – a minimally invasive non-surgical and non-drug procedure by stimulating the body’s natural healing response, decrease pain and improve function.

  • Prolotherapy is an injection of substances into damaged tissue (muscle, ligaments, tendon or cartilage)
  • It stimualates proliferation and tissue repair
  • It decreases pain and improves function
  • It is a safe injection therapy v/s surgical procedure
  • It is Simple and cost effective
  • Effective – supported by research and clinical outcome

B) PERINEURAL INJECTION – treatment has revolutionized the approach to pain management for neuropathic pain. It consists of skin sliding/palpation guided near nerve injection treatment and targets sensory inflamed nerves.

  • Relieves pain instantly
  • Repeated treatments has a cumulative reduction of neuropathic pain and other chronic conditions

C) SWEET NASAL – perfusion of spheno palatine ganglion

Can be used for:

  • Post operative analgesia
  • Diabetic neuropathy
  • CRPS, FM, chronic head/neck/back pain
  • Ehlers Danlos and much chronic pain, chronic HA and subsequent neck and upper trapezius spasm, with intra nasal dextrose, first treatment – very successful
  • Spasmodic torticollis
  • CNS sensitization, downregulation in chronic widespread pain syndromes, usual in addition to PIT
  • Optic neuritis. Mood stabilizer effect when applied frequently.
  • Gait difficulty (short steps and could not raise his foot from the floor to one side) after neck surgery, which was not there before the surgery. After 3 months of sweet nasal, he could walk normally.
