Four years ago, my husband and I were 58 and 56 years old, and had just sold our business, looking forward to changing direction in our lives. We had been runners for approximately 10 years, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and one goal was to run a marathon, just once in our lives.
In October, we ran that marathon. However, the stress of training and running the marathon injured my foot, and I had to temporarily stop running. Although I continued to exercise in different ways, I found myself getting more and more tired, with many additional aches and pains, even more than prior to the marathon. Also my foot injury just would not heal. I went to my family doctor and asked for a thyroid test, and the results showed normal. He also did a blood test for arthritis, and with that result, sent me to a rheumatologist. She did many tests, including the 18 tender-point location test for fibromyalgia, but she told me not to get too excited yet about that. Then she gave me a brochure to take home which said the cause of fibromyalgia is unknown, there is constant pain, and there is no cure, and no medication that will help. The
description of the symptoms listed fit me perfectly. She prescribed a steroid for my foot problems, and NSAIDS for the arthritis. I tried working with the prescriptions for approximately two months, but was not happy with this plan of action, and had side effects. I became very depressed that I would have to live with this constant pain for the rest of my life. By this time my fatigue was so great, I could hardly make it through the day, and I had to schedule my workload accordingly. I stopped inviting the grandchildren, because I was just too tired, and the pain was so constant.
After this time, I decided to try alternative medicine, and with referrals and slight previous contact, I decided on Dr. Kadile, even though it was a 2 ½ hour drive each way to his office. I was impressed with the length of time he gave me on our first visit (and subsequent visits also).
It has now been seven months, and I can honestly say that my overall health and well-being has improved 90%, and we are still working on the other 10%. My fibromyalgia pain is gone, and my arthritis is very much improved. My periods of depression now are very few. Other problems which I had are also gone, such as dermatitis on my face, cracked and breaking fingernails, and frequent blurred vision. Although I thought I was a healthy weight, my weight has dropped another 13 pounds, an additional bonus I wasn’t expecting.
Dr. Kadile helped me in several ways. His first change for me was to stop taking synthetic female hormones which I had been taking for eight years, and I switched to natural estrogen and progesterone. This immediately took away a large amount of the fibromyalgia pain. He determined that I did indeed have a low thyroid problem, and I now take armour thyroid, which has helped me tremendously with the fatigue and the cold intolerance which was common for me. I knew about chelation therapy and asked Dr. Kadile to put me on a regimen, which he did. He also prescribed many vitamins and supplements for me.
I have been plagued with allergies all my life, and Dr. Kadile and his staff showed me how to recognize many different symptoms, which I never attributed to the allergies. He also has given me a much more effective way to deal with them.
I am very, very thankful for Dr. Kadile and his comieous and helpful staff that have given my husband and me so much support. I shudder to think of my entire life in pain, extreme fatigue and depression. After 1 ½ years, I am running my usual regimen again. I look forward to each day, and am fully as active as I was 10-15 years ago.
